Catherine Tancredi

Prior to joining, she had her own law practice in El Cajon, CA focusing on family law matter including dissolutions, paternity, child custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, domestic violence restraining orders, guardianships, stepparent adoptions and Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs). From 1998 to 2013, she was a Certified Family Law Specialist, conferred by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization.

In addition, Catherine has served as a volunteer Settlement Conference Judge and Small Claims Judge at the El Cajon Superior Court. She has volunteered at the Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic at the El Cajon Superior Court and the Family Law Access Project at the San Diego Superior Court. Catherine has handled many cases for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program and served on their Board of Directors. For 15 years, she was the editor of the monthly Foothills Bar Association Newsletter (now the East San Diego County Bar Association.

Catherine has been recognized with multiple awards from the San Diego Superior Court, State Bar of California and the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program for her volunteer work and as a speaker at continuing education seminars.

In addition, Catherine supports many environmental causes, having incorporated local organizations and serving on Board of Directors. She co-founded the East County Land-Use Watchdogs where she advocates for environmental issues impacting the San Diego East County communities, with a particular focus on Lakeside, including the El Monte valley.

A San Diego native, Catherine attended Patrick Henry High School. She is married with two sons and four stepsons. She is an avid Ford Mustang, having both a 1965 hardtop and 1991 GT convertible. She also collects vintage and boxed Barbies, crochets, sews and enjoys classic rock.
